Product Details
1. Product Overview
Adjustable porosity porous alumina ceramic filter pipe, also named porous Al₂O₃ filtration tube, is a rigid inorganic porous filter element sintered from high-purity alumina powder via high-temperature solid-phase reaction. By adjusting raw material particle grading, pore-forming agent dosage and sintering temperature during production, its pore size, pore volume and porosity can be customized to meet diverse liquid filtration demands, especially water purification and wastewater treatment.
Different from organic filter membranes (PP, PVDF), this alumina ceramic tube features stable three-dimensional interconnected microporous structure, excellent mechanical strength and outstanding chemical inertness, serving as a long-service-life core component for solid-liquid separation.
2. Key Advantages
2.1 Customizable & Stable Filtration Precision
Porosity and pore size are fully adjustable (1μm–50μm, porosity 30%–50%) by adjusting production formulas, matching coarse filtration, fine filtration and ultrafiltration needs.
The rigid sintered micropore structure will not deform under water pressure. Filtration accuracy stays consistent during long-time running, unlike soft organic filter membranes that easily compress and lose precision.
2.2 Excellent Chemical Corrosion Resistance
Made of inert alumina oxide, it stands long-term contact with strong acids, strong alkalis, oxidants and common organic solvents.
Suitable for electroplating wastewater, printing and dyeing wastewater, chemical circulating water and other corrosive water bodies.
No swelling, dissolution or aging caused by chemical liquids.
2.3 High Mechanical Strength & Wear Resistance
Mohs hardness up to grade 9, outstanding anti-abrasion and anti-impact performance.
Resists high hydraulic pressure, hard particle scouring and cracking; far more durable than fragile silicon carbide or soft polymer filters.
Can withstand frequent high-pressure backwashing without damage.
2.4 High Temperature Resistance
Sintered at 1200–1700°C, the tube can work stably under hot water up to 100°C and dry environment up to 800°C.
Supports high-temperature hot water disinfection and thermal cleaning, unavailable for plastic filter elements.
2.5 Easy Regeneration & Long Service Life
Once blocked by suspended solids, sludge or colloids, the pipe can be fully regenerated via clean water backwashing, acid/alkali flushing or high-temperature baking.
Water flux restores nearly to original level after cleaning, greatly reducing replacement frequency and overall operation cost.
2.6 Safe, Non-toxic & Food-Grade
No plasticizers, binders or heavy metal precipitation.
Meets standards for drinking water, food and beverage filtration; will not contaminate purified water.
2.7 Stable Water Flux & Wide Application
Interconnected three-dimensional micropores provide large permeable area, delivering stable high flow rate.
Applicable to tap water purification, industrial wastewater reuse, aquaculture circulating water, pharmaceutical liquid clarification and pure water pretreatment.
2.8 Anti-Microbial Attachment & Easy Sanitization
Smooth inorganic ceramic surface reduces microbial adhesion and biofilm growth.
Simple high-temperature or chemical disinfection effectively removes bacteria and microorganisms inside pores.
3. Standard Manufacturing Flow
3.1 Raw material batching & mixing
Match alumina powder, pore-forming agent (starch/carbon), binder and lubricant; knead with water and age mud for uniform plasticity. Pore-forming agent dosage determines final porosity.
3.2 Vacuum extrusion forming
Remove air bubbles, extrude into hollow green tubes via customized dies to guarantee uniform wall thickness.
3.3 Segmented slow drying
Room-temperature air drying + low-temperature oven drying to eliminate free water and prevent cracking.
3.4 Debinding pre-firing (500–600°C)
Burn off all organic additives to form preliminary interconnected pores.
3.5 High-temperature sintering (1200–1700°C)
Control heating rate and holding time to lock pore size, porosity and mechanical strength. Higher firing temperature produces smaller pores and higher strength.
3.6 Post-processing & inspection
Cut to customer length, grind end faces, ultrasonic cleaning; test porosity, permeability, compression strength and corrosion resistance before delivery.
