Gas Cleaning Wear Resistant Boron Carbide Ceramic Blasting Nozzle

Main Component:

Boron Carbide (B₄C), content ≥ 99% (hot-pressed dense body)

Porosity:

≤ 1%–3%, near theoretical density (~2.48–2.52 g/cm³), dense sintered body with minimal open porosity

Service Temperature:

Up to 500℃ in continuous operation; melting point ~2450℃, suitable for high-temp blasting environments

Hardness / Wear Rating:

Mohs hardness ~9.3 (Vickers ~2800–3000 HV), microscopic hardness ≥ 3500 kgf/mm²; wear life typically 3–10× that of tungsten carbide nozzles depending on abrasive media

Key Properties:

Extreme abrasion resistance against hard grit (Al₂O₃, SiC, garnet); chemically stable in most acids/alkalis (except HF and hot conc. alkali); low density (~60% lighter than tungsten carbide)

Core Application:

Abrasive sandblasting (metal surface descaling, paint/rust removal, shot peening) accounts for >70% of consumption; also used in waterjet cutting auxiliary nozzles and specialty high-wear spray liners

Ceramic Sand Blasting Nozzle

The B4C tubes are in very high hardness, excellent wear resistance and the boron carbide won’t react with acid-base. High or low temperature resistance, high pressure resistant, density≥2.48g/cm³,micro hardness≥3500kgf/mm², TRS≥400Mpa, melting point is 2450℃


A significant feature of boron carbide ceramics is their high hardness, with a microhardness of approximately 50000 MPa (50 GPa), second

only to diamond (90-100 GPa) and CBN (80-90 GPa). Their grinding efficiency can reach 60% -70% of that of diamond, which is twice that of SiC and 1-2 times that of corundum. They have good acid and alkali resistance and a small coefficient of thermal expansion (4.5 x 10-6 ℃), resulting in good thermal stability, but poor impact resistance and high brittleness.

Boron Carbide is one of the hardest man-made materials available in commercial quantities that has a finite melting point low enough to permit its relatively easy fabrication into shapes.

A remarkable feature of boron carbide ceramics is very hard, its hardness is about 50000MPa (that is, 50GPa), second only to diamond (90~ 100GPa) and CBN(80 ~ 90GPa), boron carbide ceramic part can be used as abrasives, cutting tools, wear-resistant parts nozzles, bearings, etc.

B₄C nozzles exhibit exceptionally high hardness and outstanding wear resistance. Boron carbide is chemically inert to most acids and alkalis, and performs reliably under both high and low temperature as well as high-pressure conditions,density≥2.46g/cm³.With above performance, now many customers choose the boron carbide nozzles to replace the nozzles made from tungsten carbide, silicon carbide, silicon nitride, aluminium oxide, zirconium oxide, etc.

The life time is 10 times longer than usual ceramic nozzles. They are good for cleaning, even small areas: weldments, grillwork, and railings.
It can be used with water from a tap or with rust inhibitors introduced through any simple pump, no special equipment is required.

Question: How long is the production lead time for custom orders?

Answer: Sample lead time: 3–7 working days. Custom mold lead time: 5–10 working days (we will confirm the cycle separately with you for complex molds). Mass production lead time: 7–20 working days, depending on product structure complexity and order quantity.
