Introduction

High-purity alumina ceramics with Al2O3 content as high as 99% are widely used in long-life ceramic laser reflectors.

The ceramic reflector blanks are made from high-purity Al2O3 and are fired at appropriate temperatures to maintain suitable porosity and adequate blank strength.

The surface of the alumina ceramic reflectors uses a fully coated high-reflectivity ceramic glazing process. Compared with gold-plated reflectors, their biggest advantage is an extremely long service life and diffuse reflection characteristics.

Alumina ceramic reflectors are optical devices primarily made of ceramic materials, used to alter, reflect, or scatter light.

These alumina ceramic reflectors play a crucial role in many optical applications due to their excellent properties. They have high-temperature stability and can operate in high-temperature environments, such as in laser cutting or high-temperature experiments.

Moreover, ceramic reflectors stand out for their high hardness, wear resistance, and excellent optical performance, making them suitable for use in various harsh environments, such as high temperature, high pressure, or corrosive conditions. They are widely used in fields such as laser technology, solar energy equipment, optical communications, scientific instruments, and optical sensors, becoming indispensable components for ensuring the high performance and durability of optical systems.

The surface of the alumina ceramic reflector is coated with a high-reflectivity ceramic glaze, therefore, compared with gold-plated reflectors, it has a longer service life and features diffuse reflection.

High light collection efficiency The diffuse reflector made of high-purity, high-density composite ceramic material has an average reflectivity of over 98% within the effective pump light wavelength range.

Uniform pumping Using a diffuse reflection-type light collection cavity eliminates mirror effects, greatly improving the irradiation uniformity of the laser crystal, thereby achieving a laser beam with good beam quality and uniform energy distribution.

High damage threshold, capable of withstanding high-power input, and is solid, durable, long-lasting, and maintenance-free.

Excellent fully enclosed structural design and cavity made entirely of corrosion-resistant metal materials, with stable and reliable chemical and mechanical properties.

Precautions for Using Ceramic Reflectors:

During transportation, storage, and assembly, severe external damage is prohibited, such as dropping to the ground or forcing incorrect-sized parts into the housing.

Partially glazed ceramic reflectors must be sealed with the housing to prevent them from absorbing a large amount of coolant, which would reduce power.

During assembly and maintenance, do not scratch the ceramic reflective surface to avoid reducing reflectivity.

In short-wavelength (e.g., 755nm) high-temperature systems, attention must be paid to the selection of cooling system pipes and equipment materials to avoid contamination of the ceramic surface by free metallic oxides.

Compared with metal reflectors, Alumina Ceramic Cavity have higher reflectivity, thereby enhancing laser power.

The surface can be sealed and coated with UV-resistant glaze to provide high reflectivity.

Resistant to chemical corrosion

We can process or grind ceramic reflectors according to customer drawings. Quantities range from prototypes to production volumes. Glass protective surfaces prevent impurities from adhering, primarily ensuring the seal of the reflector.

Typical Applications:

Used in pump cavities for flashlamps and continuous-wave lasers, with media including Nd:YAG lasers and Alexandrite lasersranging from low to high power, single or multi-lamp designs, used for welding, cutting, marking, and medical lasers.

Used in layered and segmented pump cavities for diode-pumped lasers.
