1.    Core Characteristics of Diatomite

1.1 Chemical stability

Inert strength: PET (polyethylene terephthalate) itself is a very stable polymer. It has excellent corrosion resistance to various components in essential oils, does not undergo chemical reactions with essential oils, and can ensure the taste and purity of essential oils.

1.2 Odorless:

Pure PET fiber itself has no odor and does not have the natural taste of plant fibers like some cotton materials (such as untreated organic cotton), thus avoiding cross contamination and ensuring the true restoration of essential oil flavor.

1.3 Thermal stability

High temperature resistance:

The melting point of PET is usually above 250 °C, while the normal operating product temperature is much lower than this value (usually below 200 °C). This means that PET cotton will not melt, deform or sinter under normal working conditions, avoiding the production of harmful substances due to high-temperature decomposition.

1.4 Oil conductivity and oil locking properties

  • Quick oil guiding: PET cotton guides oil through capillary action between fibers. Its fiber structure can be designed and optimized to form uniform pores, thereby achieving fast and uniform oil conductivity, which can keep up with the evaporation rate of coils under high power.
  • Good oil locking: While quickly guiding the oil, PET cotton can also effectively "lock" the essential oil to prevent leakage. Its oil locking ability is stronger than that of fluffy organic cotton, which is why it is widely used in pre oiled products.

1.5 Structural strength a  nd durability

  • Not easy to collapse:PET fibers have good rigidity and can maintain their original fluffy structure and shape well during long-term immersion and use of essential oils, making them less prone to compaction or collapse. This ensures the long-lasting smoothness of the oil guide channel.

  • Longer lifespan: Compared to organic cotton, PET cotton is more resistant to burning and sticking. In the case of sufficient essential oils, as long as they are not burned dry, their service life is usually longer and their performance deteriorates slower.

 

2. Core Application of PET Cotton

2.1 Partial finished atomization core:

Many devices or finished atomization cores that can be filled with oil also use PET cotton as the oil storage medium inside. It integrates the oil guiding cotton and coil together, allowing users to replace them immediately after use, making it convenient and fast.

2.2 Liquid guiding medium:

Aromatherapy / industrial atomizer core material, essential oil diffusion carrier.

2.3 Filter and adsorption:

Liquid filtration support layer, industrial oil or liquid absorption pad.

2.4 Electronic protection:

Battery pack heat insulation and buffering, electronic component filling and fixation.

2.5 Cosmetics and personal care:

Cosmetics liquid guiding core, makeup remover cotton base material.

2.6 Industrial filling:

Automotive interior, sealing strips and packaging buffering materials.

4. Limitations analysis

Although PET cotton has significant advantages, there are also some limitations, which are mainly evident when compared to the organic cotton commonly used by RBA (Reconstructable Nebulizer) players:

4.1 Subtle differences in flavor reproduction

In the eyes of RBA players who pursue the ultimate taste, high-quality organic cotton, due to its fluffiness and more natural fiber structure, may have a more "vivid" and "layered" restoration of essential oil flavors. The flavor reproduction of PET cotton is considered by some players to be somewhat "plain" or "dull".

4.2 The instantaneous explosive power is slightly weaker

When dealing with instantaneous ultra-high power pulses, organic cotton may perform better than PET cotton and avoid dry burning due to its extremely fast instantaneous oil transmission speed.

4.3 Non reusable

PET cotton is usually tightly integrated with the atomization core structure, and users cannot replace it themselves. For RBA players, organic cotton can be removed, cleaned, or replaced at any time, making it more playable and flexible.

Question: Can you produce based on customers’ drawings or physical samples?

Answer: Absolutely yes. We accept technical drawings in all mainstream file formats as well as actual physical samples. Before formal production, our engineering team will provide a full professional DFM feasibility evaluation for your reference.

Question: How long is the production lead time for custom orders?

Answer: Sample lead time: 3–7 working days. Custom mold lead time: 5–10 working days (we will confirm the cycle separately with you for complex molds). Mass production lead time: 7–20 working days, depending on product structure complexity and order quantity.
