1. Overview of Alumina Ceramic Spark Ignition Electrode
1.1 Definition & Core Function
The 95% & 99% alumina ceramic spark ignition electrode (also called ceramic igniter needle) is a core safety component for all gas-fired combustion equipment. It generates a concentrated high-voltage electric arc at the tip to instantly ignite the gas-air mixture, delivering fast, stable and repeatable ignition performance.
Paired with high-voltage igniter modules to form a complete ignition system, many integrated models also support flame detection safety shutoff — automatically cutting off gas supply when the flame goes out to prevent leakage risks. It is fully compatible with natural gas, LPG, pipeline gas and other common fuel types.
1.2 Product Structure & Main Types
A standard electrode consists of four core parts: high-purity alumina ceramic insulator, high-temperature alloy probe, heat-resistant insulated wire and connection terminal. The ceramic body acts as both a high-voltage insulating support and precision positioning fixture, maintaining a stable spark gap while eliminating electric leakage hazards.
Two main product types are available:
*Standalone electrodes: 95% alumina for household scenarios, 99% high-purity alumina for commercial/industrial heavy-duty use
*Integrated pilot assemblies: built-in injectors, thermocouples/thermopiles, wires and mounting brackets, for easier installation and higher system safety
2. Core Performance Characteristics
2.1 Thermal & Mechanical Performance of Ceramic Matrix
The high-density sintered alumina ceramic takes excellent high-temperature resistance and thermal shock stability as its core advantages.
*Works continuously at up to 1250°C, forming a dense anti-corrosion oxide film on the surface under high temperature, with no performance degradation after long-term operation
*Withstands dozens of rapid heating-cooling cycles without cracking, chipping or deformation, far more reliable than ordinary ceramic or plastic insulators
*Glazed smooth surface with high hardness and ultra-low water absorption, resists carbon and oil fouling, reducing ignition failure risks and later maintenance frequency
2.2 Chemical Stability & Insulation Performance
With 95%–99% high-purity Al₂O₃ as the main component, the ceramic has excellent chemical inertness, resisting corrosion from combustion flue gas, kitchen oil, detergent and moisture. No harmful substances precipitate at high temperatures, safely adapting to food processing and commercial kitchen scenarios.
It provides reliable high-voltage insulation with resistivity ≥500 Ω·m, stably withstands 220–250V AC working voltage and instantaneous high-voltage pulses, ensuring user safety in daily operation.
2.3 Probe & Wire Configuration Options
Multiple high-temperature alloy probes are available for different working conditions, all featuring fast ignition and strong conductivity:
*0Cr25Al5: temperature resistance up to 1200°C, cost-effective for household and ordinary commercial equipment
*Cr27Al7Mo2: temperature resistance up to 1350°C, with over 10 times longer service life, ideal for industrial burners and boilers
*Ni80Cr20 and imported high-temperature wires: 1100–1500°C temperature range, customizable on demand
Wire options include bare copper wire, Teflon wire, braided wire and silicon rubber wire. Teflon wire with glass fiber protective layer is the most widely used model, with outstanding electrical insulation, corrosion resistance, flame retardancy and aging resistance. Standard connectors include M12, M16, G1/2 and 1 inch, available in bronze or stainless steel.




3. Technical Specifications
3.1 Core Material Configuration
The ignition electrode uses 95% / 99% high-purity alumina ceramic as the insulating main body. Optional probe materials cover SUS304, SUS316, conventional 0Cr25Al5 and premium Cr27Al7Mo2 high-temperature alloys.
Lead wires are available in Teflon, silicone rubber and braided types, with a glass fiber protective layer for enhanced durability.
The insulation medium consists of PTFE and alumina ceramic, guaranteeing reliable high-voltage insulation performance.
3.2 Electrical & Working Parameters
It features a rated working voltage of 220~250V AC with insulation resistivity no less than 500 Ω·m. The product fits an ambient working temperature of ≤200°C and a maximum working pressure of 1.6 MPa.
The ceramic body withstands continuous high temperature up to 1250°C, and is fully compatible with natural gas, LPG and pipeline gas.
3.3 Dimensional & Customization Options
The standard probe length covers 10–100cm, and standard connector specifications include M12 / M16, G1/2 and 1 inch.
All sizes, connector types and wire lengths support full customization based on customer drawings.
The ceramic body is available in two standard finishes: white and cream-colored.

Drawing-based proofing is available for testing verification before mass production. Customers can also select material grades and wire types to match different product positioning and cost budgets.

Question: Can you produce based on customers’ drawings or physical samples?
Answer: Absolutely yes. We accept technical drawings in all mainstream file formats as well as actual physical samples. Before formal production, our engineering team will provide a full professional DFM feasibility evaluation for your reference.

Question: How long is the production lead time for custom orders?
Answer: Sample lead time: 3–7 working days. Custom mold lead time: 5–10 working days (we will confirm the cycle separately with you for complex molds). Mass production lead time: 7–20 working days, depending on product structure complexity and order quantity.
