1. Overview of PET Fiber Cotton Wick Stick

1.1 General introduction
PET fiber cotton wick is a porous liquid absorption rod made of composite thermoplastic fiber, with stable liquid storage and uniform volatilization performance. It matches water-based and oil-based essence, medicinal liquid and mosquito repellent liquid, widely used in aromatherapy diffusers, liquid mosquito repellent heaters, e-cigarette oil storage core and medical liquid volatilization equipment.

1.2 Chemical Composition & Microstructure
Two mainstream composite fiber formulas for selection:

  • PA+PET type: 71% high-temperature resistant PA fiber + 29% low-temperature PET fiber
  • PET+PET type: 71% high-temperature resistant PET fiber + 29% low-temperature PET fiber

Interlaced porous fiber structure, uniform tiny gaps inside for stable capillary liquid absorption, low expansion rate after long-term liquid soaking.

2. Manufacturing Process

2.1 Fiber Batching & Blending

High-temperature and low-temperature fiber raw materials are proportioned strictly according to formula, fully mixed to realize uniform fiber distribution.
Step A: High-speed fiber blending to avoid component agglomeration.
Step B: Extrusion molding into cylindrical cotton wick blanks.
Step C: Constant-temperature hot setting to fix internal porous structure.
Step D: Cooling shaping to maintain stable liquid absorption channels.

2.2 Precision Cutting & Finishing

Step A: Continuous cotton wick blanks cut into customized fixed lengths.
Step B: End surface trimming to remove loose burr fibers and prevent fiber falling off.
Secondary low-temperature shaping treatment to eliminate residual forming stress, avoid shrinkage during long-time heating volatilization.

2.3 Finished Sorting & Packaging
Screen cotton sticks with uneven density or loose fibers; sort products by diameter and length specifications. Qualified finished cotton wicks are packed for aromatherapy, mosquito liquid and electronic atomization manufacturers.

3.1 Liquid Absorption & Volatilization Performance

  • Ultra-light density range 0.04–0.7 g/cm³, porous structure with strong capillary absorption capacity for oil and water liquid.
  • Low expansivity only 3%, no swelling deformation after long-time soaking in essential oil and liquid medicine.
  • Consistent yarn diameter 15–20μm, stable uniform volatilization speed without sudden increase or decrease of fragrance output.

3.2 High Temperature & Chemical Compatibility

  • Melt temperature reaches 250℃, stable structure under continuous heating of aromatherapy and mosquito liquid heaters, no melting collapse.
  • Inert to most plant essential oils, alcohol-based medicinal liquid and oil-based mosquito repellent liquid, no chemical precipitation to block pores.
  • No fiber decomposition or peculiar smell under long-term heating volatilization, pure volatile liquid without impurity pollution.

3.3 Physical & Structural Performance

  • Fixed yarn gram weight 400D, uniform fiber tightness of each batch cotton stick, consistent liquid storage capacity of single piece.
  • Soft interwoven fiber structure, no hard sharp edges, will not scratch internal equipment of diffuser heaters.
  • Cylindrical uniform shape, matched with standard bottle inner diameter, no liquid leakage during liquid absorption and volatilization.

4. Key Limitations

  • Not suitable for long-time contact with strong corrosive acid and alkali liquid, fiber structure will be damaged.
  • Long-term use under temperature over 250℃ will lead to fiber melting and failure of liquid absorption function.
  • Overly thick or ultra-thin customized diameter will slightly affect the uniformity of liquid volatilization.

6. Material Positioning

PET composite fiber cotton wick fills the demand gap between non-woven absorption strips and ceramic absorption cores. It balances low cost, stable liquid absorption and high temperature resistance, supporting both water-based and oil-based liquid media. Compared with single cotton fiber sticks, it has better heat resistance and smaller expansion deformation; compared with porous ceramic wick, it has lighter weight and lower unit cost, being the mainstream liquid volatilization absorption core material for household fragrance, mosquito repellent and small atomization equipment.

Answer: Absolutely yes. We accept technical drawings in all mainstream file formats as well as actual physical samples. Before formal production, our engineering team will provide a full professional DFM feasibility evaluation for your reference.

Question: How long is the production lead time for custom orders?

Answer: Sample lead time: 3–7 working days. Custom mold lead time: 5–10 working days (we will confirm the cycle separately with you for complex molds). Mass production lead time: 7–20 working days, depending on product structure complexity and order quantity.
