1. Overview of Agate Mortar

Agate Mortar is a precision grinding tool crafted from natural agate stone, widely used in laboratories, chemical analysis, pharmaceuticals, and electronic material research. It is designed for grinding solid samples into fine powders or homogeneously mixing powders. Thanks to its high purity, hardness, and excellent corrosion resistance, it is ideal for high-sensitivity experiments where contamination must be minimized.

Made from natural Agate. They also have high gloss and strong corrosion resistance and can be used in acidic abrasive materials. The natural pattern is different from mortars to mortars, as they are all naturally occurring. Pestles are included in the agate mortar set.

4. Cautionary Notes for Using Agate Mortar
1. Before Use 
First-time use recommendation: Gently wipe the inner wall with distilled water or absolute ethanol, then let it air dry naturally. Do not immerse it in strong alkali or hydrofluoric acid. 
Check for any hidden cracks: Agate is a natural stone. After transportation, it may have minor cracks. Observe it from all around under light to decide whether it can be processed on the machine for grinding. 
For use together: The pestle and the mortar are a matched set for grinding. Do not use different sets together; otherwise, the fit will be damaged. 
2. In use 
The force should be gentle: Agate has a Mohs hardness of 6.5-7, but it is poor at withstanding impact. Do not use a hammer or a metal rod to replace the grinding tool; otherwise, the edges may crack. 
Small quantities, multiple times: The recommended single sample loading volume should not exceed 1/3 of the container's capacity. Fine materials have a better grinding effect than large, hard pieces. 
Hardness classification: 
Feasibility study: Soft minerals, medicines, pigments, soil, ceramic powder 
Shen Yan: Quartz sand (which will mutually deplete in hardness), metal powder 
Prohibited items: Abrasive granules such as corundum, silicon carbide, and hard alloy particles. 
Temperature change prohibition: Hot samples (above 80℃) must be cooled to room temperature before being directly poured into the cold container to avoid cracking. 
3. After Use 
Timely cleaning: When the residual samples dry and harden, their hardness increases. Then, use a pestle to scrape off = Self-mutilation. Suggestion: 
Soft-bristled brush + rinse with distilled water 
For stubborn stains, briefly immerse them in dilute nitric acid (<10%) and absolutely avoid using hydrofluoric acid (HF). 
Drying method: Allow to dry naturally upside down while controlling moisture. Do not place in an oven for rapid drying (above 150℃, there is a risk of cracking). 
Storage: Place in individual soft packaging (bubble wrap/velvet cloth), do not stack, and do not place heavy objects on top.
